Subject: - Punjab Constabulary Humiliates Non-Muslims By Announcing Posts Of Sanitary Workers/ Sweepers Only For Non-Muslims
Honorable Sir,
Greetings and peace from Pakistan Minorities Teachers’ Association (PMTA).
PMTA would like to draw your kind attention on the subject cited above.
Article 25 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees, “All citizens are equal before law and are entitled to equal protection of law.” But Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad, District Sheikhupura has openly violated the constitution by hurting the sentiments of the non-Muslims on the religious basis. In one of its most recent advertisement in the “Daily Jang” on January 28, 2016 it has announced recruitment in 8 different fields but posts of sanitary workers/sweepers are reserved only for non-Muslims. Five percent quota is reserved for non-Muslims for all posts by the government of Punjab but announcing all posts of sanitary workers/sweepers for non-Muslims is violation of recruitment policy as well by the Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad, District Sheikhupura.
Sir, PMTA requests you to order the concerned quarters to revise the said advertisement so that there may not be humiliation of any applicant on the basis of religion.
With best regards.
PROF. ANJUM JAMES PAUL
CHAIRMAN
