Independence Day Celebration at ST: JOSEPH’S CONVENT SCHOOL, QUETTA. By Parvez Iqbal, PCP Correspondent, Quetta.

St: Joseph’s Convent School Quetta organized an Inter School, National songs and Debate Competition on the eve of 57th Independence Day of Pakistan. Mrs. Parween Magsi, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Department, Government of Balochistan honored the occasion as Chief Guest. Jam Mohammed Yousaf, Chief Minister, of Balochistan, who consented to be the Chief Guest, but due to his pre-scheduled activities, he sent Mrs. Parween Magsi, as his representative. She during her speech congratulated the SJC School for arranging fantastic program in connection with celebration of Independence Day. She further added that she started her education from this Institution and now a great honor for an ex – student invited as Chief Guest. She appreciated schools participated in this competition and gave and impressive performance. In her message to the students, she advised the students to pay more than due attention to their studies, not only for their better future but also for better Pakistan, as they are future of us and Pakistan. She congratulated the schools that stood on victory stand. She promised her full co-operation and assistance for construction work already started in the School, and announced five hundred thousand’s Cash donation.

Talking to the PCP Correspondent, Ms. Kamni Dass informed that Invitation to many schools for participation in this programs were sent but due to their already planned programs for Independence Day, only 6 schools including St; Joseph’s Convent School, Garrison School, Wilderness School, Sacred Heart Girls high School, St: Michael’s High School and St: Francis Grammar School actively participated, both in speech and National Songs Competition.

Amber Yasmin of Garrison School, stood at first position, Humera Naseem of Sacred Heart Girls School, Stood on Second Position and Shamoo Mazhar of Wilderness School stood at Third Position of the Victory Stand, while Shareen Khan of St: Michael School awarded with Special Prize for Speech Competition. Topic of this competition was “OUR NATIONAL HEROS WHO STRUGGLED FOR INDEPENDENCE OF PAKISTAN”.

Shanza of St: Jospeh’s Convent School, declared First, Amber Shaukat of Sacred Heart School, declared second and Kamal from Garrison School declared Third, and Shahan Javed of Saint Francis Grammer School won Special Prize for National Song Competition.

Principal, St: Joseph’s Convent School concluded the Program and presented Vote of Thanks to the Chief Guest for sparing her Precious time for her ex school and gracing the occasion with her presence. She also thanked Management Committee of the Program, Participating Schools, Students and Guests.
