Indian leader describes Pak statement on Kashmir in United Nations as false, misleading and unhistorical
New Delhi: March 15, 2018. (PCP) Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & expert on affairs of J&K vis-à-vis United Nations expressed deep shock on the Pakistan representative misleading and un-historic comments which he made at United Nations Meeting in Geneva this morning. NPP Supremo described the statement of Pak representative who tried to link ‘Kashmir’ to Palestine least realizing the political and international status of Palestine which was handed over as a mandate to great Britain after the World War-I whereas Kashmir in fact was a state, Jammu and Kashmir which acceded to the Union of India in 1947 as other 575 states acceded to the Union of India in accordance with the Act passed by the British Parliament in 1946. Comparing Palestine with Jammu and Kashmir is totally false, un-historic and misleading.
Prof.Bhim Singh wondered why Indian representative failed to give a crisp reply to Pakistan as was done by Shri V.K. Krishnamenon in 1957 & 1962 as a representative of India on the floors of the United Nations. Jammu and Kashmir acceded to the Union of India (there was no Kashmir as a state) because Jammu and Kashmir were not a mandate of the United Kingdom as was the case of Palestine which was divided by UN Resolution No.181 in 1948 and the status of Palestine cannot be compared with the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
This is also important that the Pakistan has been raising the so-called issue of Jammu and Kashmir before United Nations when it was one Pakistan. The Indian representative had a chance to remind the Pakistan representative that Pakistan got split and a larger population got a new state called ‘Bangaldesh’ in 1971. Pakistan cannot claim an inch of land from Jammu and Kashmir as nearly 31,000 sq. miles of J&K Territory which Pakistan calls ‘Azad Kashmir’ is part and parcel of J&K which had acceded to the Union of India in accordance with the Act of British Parliament.
Prof.Bhim Singh advised the Modi Govt. to train and educate all the Indian representatives in any branch of the United Nations office in accordance with the Constitution, status of Pakistan and the historic background linked with the national and international laws of the Union of India with its states.
Prof.Bhim Singh convened two major international conferences of the residents of J&K and the POK in 2005 and 2007 with a unique effort to ensure an end to the so-called Kashmir problem which Pakistan has been exploiting for over a century.
