Jammu: (GK NEWS) Jammu Kashmir Joint Front has asked India to make sincere efforts towards a lasting solution of the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people to ensure durable peace in the region. Aslam Khan, president of the Front said "India is not sincere in resolving the Kashmir issue as telecommunication links between both parts of Kashmir are still cut off and there is restricted movement at relief points on the LoC. He said the major CBM would be to make LoC irrelevant and allow people to govern themselves. Khan said that India should show its sincerity towards peace efforts by withdrawing its troops from 'occupied Kashmir' to barracks, stop human rights violations, release detainees and allows people to express their views freely. "The dialogue process is incomplete without Kashmiris. Their involvement is must as the issue is related to them," he said adding, "Without participation of Kashmiri leaders, the issue cannot be resolved." He called Indian government to accept the ground realities in Kashmir and resolve the issue according to the wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir. He also called on European Union, and world leaders to pressurize Indian government to stop its troops from committing grave excesses as "civilians are being used as human shields during gunfights and women are arrested." Khan, said that demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir was a prerequisite for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, we talk about empowerment of people of Jammu and Kashmir and not autonomy or semi-autonomy, he said that "Pakistan also wants a just solution of the issue acceptable to all stakeholders including India, Pakistan and Kashmiris.
