NCIDE expresses solidarity with the Homeless Christian Families of Narowal

Lahore: April 10, 2018. (PCP) National commission for interreligious Dialogue & Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops Conference – Pakistan) organized a press conference to show solidarity with the Christian families of Narowal who have been tortured, and abducted. Their houses, land and Church property has been was occupied by influential personals. This team of Muslim and Christian religious Leaders was lead by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap (Executive secretary NCIDE) and Moulana Muhammad Asim Makhdoom. Among the others were Qari Ahmad Shakil Sadeequi, Pastor Samuel Syed Abbas Sherazi, Pandit Bhaggat Lal, Dr. Badar Munir, Qari Khalid Mahmood, Allama Shakil-ul-Rehman, Allama Arif Chishti and Moulana Aslam Nadeem. While talking to the representatives of electronic and print media Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap strongly condemned this brutal act and demanded for justice. He stressed upon the need of immediate legal action. He also assured the victims for all possible cooperation and promised to provide any legal assistance. Muslim and Christian Leaders too condemned this injustice and asked the government to take immediate action against the culprits. Mrs Ishrat Javed, representing the women wing too condemned this cruel act and appealed for a quick action. At the end all the leaders participated in a lunch to show solidarity.
