Blasphemy accused Iqbal Masih gets post arrest bail from court

Lahore: November 16, 2017. (PCP) On November 04, a case FIR was registered under section 298 PPC at Icchra Police station Lahore allegedly accusing Iqbal Masih of committing blasphemy. He got arrested by the police on the same evening after the complaint registered by a local and closed Muslim neighbour Mohammad Waqas Aslam against Iqbal Mash. Katherine Sapna Director Christians’ True Spirit – CTS took notice of the matter immediately and provided shelter to all family members (26) at CTS safe house. CTS team seriously handled the case and provided legal support to Iqbal Masih through Mr Nadeem Hussan Advocate High Court. CTS moved a Post arrest bail of Iqbal Masih on Friday, November 10, and the hearing was announced on Monday, November 13, 2017. Today Mr Nadeem Hassan Advocate (legal consultant) Katherine Sapna Director CTS and Mr Salamat Gill Coordinator CTS along with the family members of Iqbal Masih attended the court hearing. Mr Nadeem convinced the learned Judge Ms Afshan Sidra Judicial Magistrate, Modle Town Courts Lahore to grant Post- Arrest bail of Iqbal Masih on medical grounds. CTS is grateful for your kind prayers and moral support in dealing this case wisely and quietly and for the release of Iqbal Masih. Soon CTS will admit him in the mental hospital, as he needs proper mental treatment for stability. Though the threat is still there and no one in the family is safe. They need to live hide and under the protection of CTS.
