New Delhi: February 6, 2018. (PCP) Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party made strong appeal to the Parliament of India to try to understand the unparallel sacrifices of the residents of J&K particularly that of Kashmir Valley in 1947 to ensure the final integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country in 1947 strengthening the will of the Ruler of J&K, Maharaja Hari Singh who signed the final Instrument Accession of J&K with India. Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession mentioning three subjects namely, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Communication and Allied Matters on 26th October, 1947. Similar Instrument of Accession with the similar subjects were signed by 575 State Rulers in 1947 offering the Accession of the respective States with the rest of the country. Maharaja Hari Singh was forced out of J&K immediately after he signed the Instrument of Accession. The diaries/notebooks which Maharaja Hari Singh maintained till his death (May 1961). He died in Bombay and his ashes were brought to Jammu Tawi according to his wishes. Prof.Bhim Singh, Shri Onkar Nath Khajuria and several other student leaders were arrested inside Govt. Secretariat at Jammu when thousands of students had gathered in front of Secretariat, Jammu demanding lowering the State Flag in honour of the Maharaja. Several students were injured. Several student leaders were arrested, detained for more than a year and remained under trials for nearly two years before the City Magistrate, Jammu. There was no Indian Flag on the Secretariat. There was only J&K Flag which was lowered half-mast by the students.
Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the people about the undaunted sacrifices the people of J&K had made in defense of the Accession of the State with the rest of the country.
Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the Parliament of India to kindly collect the literature/material which relates to the nationalist uprise of the people of J&K particularly those Muslims living in the Valley. Prof.Bhim Singh said that the Parliament of India has not played its role well according to the sacrifices and nationalist commitment which was demonstrated by Sheikh Abdullah, Mirza Afzal Beg and others who were responsible for strengthening the hands and the mission of Maharaja Hari Singh to accede with the Union of India on 26th October, 1947.
Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the Parliament of India to be kind on the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir in particular who supported Sheikh Abdullah and his companion in their mission to accede J&K with India in 1947. Prof.Bhim Singh wondered on the role of the Parliament of India which has failed in its response to congratulate the Kashmiri leaders for their in ensuring J&K with the rest of the country in 1947.
Prof.Bhim Singh wondered why the Parliament of India has not shown its commitment to the State Accession with the Union of India. Why J&K has not been integrated with the rest of the country when 575 states were integrated the day 26th January, 1950 was declared a national integration day? Why J&K was not integrated? When the Parliament of India shall accomplish its duty and responsibility to declare State of J&K as an integral part of India as was desired by the people of J&K and signed by the State Maharaja, Hari Singh in 1947? How long shall the people of J&K particularly the Kashmiries shall wait for that day?
Why not Indian Flag and the Constitution extended to J&K with Fundamental Rights in Chapter-III of the Indian Constitution? Why people of J&K are not offered Indian Flag, Indian Constitution? Why the Parliament of India has remained silent for nearly 70 years?
