Karachi: March 2, 2009. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC expressed reservations of Christian on decision of PPP government to introduce Nazam-e-Idal or Kazi Courts under Islamic Sharia law in Malakand Division and Swat Val |

Nazir Bhatti urged Christians to observe prayer day on March 15, 2009, for safety of millions of Christians in Pakistan because threat of Muslim extremists is on head.
“It is very surprising that a secular party like Awamai National Party ANP which governs NWFP is implementing Islamic Sharia in Swat and Malakand division on directions of Pakistan Peoples Party PPP while Khan Abdul Wali Khan and Bacha Khan who founded ANP shall be crying in graves on such decision” added Dr. Bhatti
Swat and Malakand are federal parts of Pakistan but government have decided to impose parallel judicial system in these areas of NWFP. There are already two Judicial system in Pakistan, one which is inherited by British Colonial rulers called Pakistan Penal Code PPC and other formulated by Zial-ul-Haq regime under Hadood Ordinance of Islamic laws. Now this third judicial system which will be run by Muslim clerics appointed by those to whom government was terming as terrorists and in battle with them for months called Nazam-e-Idal”
Will Muslim clerics pass Islamic judgment on Christians living in Northern areas of Pakistan? Will Muslim Kazi shall dissolve Christian marriages? Will Christians shall be stoned and whipped under Islamic laws? What will be future of Christian Schools and hospitals in Swat, Malakand and Kohistan areas? Will Christian girls be allowed education and Christian women shall be bound to wear Burqa “Hijjab”? Will Christians be declared infidels? Will Kazi Courts force Christians to convert to Islam? Why Christians shall abide by Sharia law? These are questions which have spread wave of fear among Christians living in Northern Areas, NWFP and other parts of Pakistan.
Nazir Bhatti said” There is no option for Christians to migrate from NWFP to other parts of Pakistan for safety and security of their life”
“Christians of NWFP are suppose to sell their properties and get ready to migrate because their faith and identity is in danger in this volatile area where government of Pakistan have lost their writ and bowed to such a Judicial system which negates justice” said Nazir Bhatti
“Those who think Sharia law will be kept composed only in Swat Valley, Malakand and Kohistan are living in fools paradise because it will spread soon in tribal areas and NWFP which will endanger integrity and solidarity of Pakistan” said Nazir S Bhatti
In telephonic address Nazir Bhatti directed workers of PCC to contact Christian masses to aware them of danger which is heading to turn them “Zimmi” mean slave or second class citizen in Pakistan when blasphemy law are already hanging like sword on their necks. |
