Solemn Profession of five Capuchin Brothers

Lahore: September 23, 2015. (Pervez Yousaf) Five Capuchin Brothers namely Lazar Aslam, Adnan Kashif, Azam Saddique, Almas Yousaf and Adeel Mazhar received their Solemn Profession at St. Francis Church, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. This glorious ceremony was attended by 30 priests, FC Sisters, Fokolarian community members and 200 lay people including the families of the five brothers. Custos of Mariam Siddeeqa Custody Pakistan Rev. Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap administered the Solemn Profession while Rev. Fr. Morris Jalal OFM Cap and Rev. Fr. John Joseph OFM Cap were the concelebrants. The celebration started at 10.30 a.m. and continued for more than two hours. During the Holy Mass Rev. Fr. Mahboob Evarist OFM Cap delivered the message in an impressive and precise manner which touched the hearts of all who were present in that magnificent celebration. In his message he addressed the gathering in three different languages including Urdu, Punjabi and English. He said, “It is historic and joyous day that our five brothers are receiving their solemn profession which means that they are going to take a huge responsibility on their shoulders that leads towards the service of the people of God by adopting chastity, obedience, poverty and prayerful community life.” He appreciated the families of all the brothers who motivated and educated their children to become the servants of God and congratulated them. Earlier Ref. Fr. Emmanuel Mushtaq presented the introduction of Brothers Lazar Aslam, Adnan Kashif, Azam Saddique, Almas Yousaf and Adeel Mazhar. Rev. Fr. Qaisar Feroz OFM Cap was the MC while Rev. Fr. William Basharat OFM Cap was the coordinator of the ceremony. During the celebration Fr. Qaisar read out the messages from Capuchin Friars who were not present on this occasion. On behalf of the Provincial Minister Rev. Fr. Gust Koyen, the entire Mother Province, Rev. Fr. Kamiel Tuens, Provincial Delegate of Sri Lanka Rev. Fr. Vincent G. Furtado and the entire community in Sri Lanka; Fr. Francis Nadeem greeted all the brothers and their families. He said that the entire Mariam Siddeeqa Custody is very happy to have five more brothers to serve the Catholic Church in Pakistan and to spread the Word of God. At the end representing all the five brothers, Br. Adnan Kashif thanked all the formators, in Lahore, Karachi and Sri Lanka, the Provincial Minister, the entire Mother Province and Fr. Kamiel Teuns for the provision of moral and general support they received from them to complete their studies. On behalf of all the brothers he vowed to follow the way of life of Seraphic Saint Francis of Assisi. During the Holy Mass Franciscan Youth Choir sang melodious hymns which invoked the spiritual emotions of all the worshippers.
