Pakistan's leading English newspaper Dawn has reported in its July 31 issue that Punjab chief minister Pervez Elahi has constituted an eight-member committee to probe the murder of Father George Ibrahim, the committee will submit it's report to the chief minister within one week. It is learnt that a delegation of Christian fathers across the Punjab called on the chief minister, provincial law minister Raja Basharat was also present on the occasion. Members of the delegation apprised the chief minister of the details of tragic incident of July 5 in which Father George Ibrahim was killed. After listening to their grievances, the chief minister formulated the committee under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Kotes. The other members are Father Samson, Fr Khalid Rashid, Fr James, Major Javed Rehmatullah and MPA's Joseph Hakim. The chief minister assured the delegation that police officials showing negligence would be dismissed from the service. It is learnt that Sheikhupura range DIG Tariq Saleem Dogar will visit Thursday Renala khurd in connection with the investigation of the case.
