HCBA and DBA Larkana decides not to participate in Sindh Lawyers Convention at Sanghar

LARKANA: June 10, 2010. (By Nazir Siyal) High Court Bar Association (HCBA) and District Bar Association (DBA) Larkana have denied of any participation and challenged its legality to organize Sindh Lawyers Convention at Sanghar DBA on June 12th, 2010. Addressing the joint press conference, President High Court Bar Association (HCBA) Innayatullah Morio and General Secretary Abdul Hamid Bhurgari along with Lawyers community will neither support the upcoming convention organized by Anwer Mehmood Nizamani, the President of Sanghar and nor participate because it is a an illegal to start protest or strike without the approval of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and Sindh Bar Council (SBC). They said that the agenda of convention is to activate the lawyers’ movement for independent of judiciary and struggle of lawyers for the rule of law, further added according to Pakistan Legal Practitioners (PLP) and bar council rules 1976 udner 175-E “No bar association or group of bar associations, any bar body, forum shall be authorized to give strike or protest call to the members of legal fraternity at national level without prior approval of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). They further said that the sacrifice and struggle of lwayers during dictator Mushraf era, cannot be forgotten, several bold lawyers sacrifice their lives but they did not bow downto the dictators and waged war against rulers for the supremacy of law and revival of judiciary they said. To a querry regarding the 18th ammendement, they said according to the article 239 and sub article-B, no one can call a question to 18th amendment passed by parliament in any court of law. They said, the lawyers continue their struggle for the rights of lawyers community and for their welfare they said.
