Delegation from Ireland meets Larkana administration on flood relief

LARKANA: September 27, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) The Ireland Delegation under the leadership of Dr. Mary Mc Loughlin Country Director held a meeting with DCO Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari here in Larkana on Monday. The delegation informed that they are engaged in long-term relief activities for three years and above, in order to re-establish, needy flood victims of Sindh Province who were affected by recent floods. They also informed that delegation have conducted very successful distribution of food stuff among the homeless flood victims in remote areas of Thatta, Makli and Sajawal and distributed five thousand (5000 kg) of flour, Ghee, Tea and hand-fans among the flood affectees. The delegation also informed that currently we have started a relief operation in Larkana and surrounding area in order to distribute food stuff and clothes, as well as the relief camps, the Medical relief may also be provided by the visiting health care workers they informed. The delegation also discussed with DCO Larkana for the rehabilitation of flood victims about long-term plan on the occasion. Later, the delegation visited the different relief camps established at Municipal Stadium Larkana and relief camps at new Sabzi Market, Old Bus-Stand, New Bus-Stand, Arts Council, Railway-Station and distributed food stuff, clothes and medicines among the flood victims. On the occasion, EDO Revenue Larkana Asadullah Abro briefed the delegation about relief and rehabilitation plan, which is being prepared by District Government Larkana, the District Officer Revenue Larkana Tariq Anwar Khokhar was also accompanied the delegation.
