Karachi: April 17, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC expressed reservation on Home Listing process of Census 2011, which is ending on April 19, 2011, because some Christian areas in rural Punjab and Urban Sindh have been ignored by Population Census Organization of Government of Pakistan. “There is no Colum of Religion in House Listing Forms in hands of Census staff of government of Pakistan which indicates intentions of government to manipulate data of Christians in final phase of Census” said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti said that it is conspiracy against Christians in Pakistan to reduce their due share in resources of Federation of Pakistan which have been already denied since 1947. “ The Demographic Indictors of Census 1998, have put Christians on number 3 and Hindus on number 2, while Christians were on number 2 from 1951 Census till 1988, which surprised millions of Christians” added Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti said that Pakistani Christians will not accept Census 2011, if Religion Column is not included in Home Listing and Block Listing process of Census. “I urged government of Pakistan in 1998, to conduct Sample Census of Christians to increase Christian representation in Parliament of Pakistan as Sample Census of Karachi City was conducted and Muslim General Seats of Karachi were raised from 13 to 21 but PCC demand was ignored” said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti clarified that Census is very important for Christians because it sets share in democratic institution of Pakistan and government intentionally plans in every Census to reduce population of Christians. The Census in Pakistan is never transparent and feudal ruling class manipulate population data to seek more seats in Parliament. Nazir S Bhatti appealed Christian Youth to accompany Census Staff in Home Listing to keep check on entries because more than five million Christians who have similar names like Muslim may not be enlisted as Muslims.
