Journalist condemn rape of flood victim woman by police officer

LARKANA: May 5, 2011. (By Nazir Siyal) Sindh Sahafi Sangat (SSS) widely condemned the brutal action of SHO Ratodero on electronic media persons of Larkana in the High Court premises after coverage of punishment of belt removal of SHO here on Thursday. According to the reports, the police atrocities have been increased in Taluka Ratodero Police Station and daily brutal incidents are routine in the jurisdiction. While after the confirmation of Medical report of rape of flood victim woman Shida Mangi, Court punished SHO Saifullah Bughio and ordered for removing belt and arrested with handcuff. While, Ratodero Police brutally beaten a youth Ahsan Joyo in police custody and he was killed after reaching at hospital. On Thursday, High Court Larkana bench ordered to remove the belt of SHO Ratodero Asad Nabi Khichi in a case and simultaneously ordered for removal of belt and punishement, while electronic media men were covering the scene out side, where the Police Inspector Asad Nabi Khichi enraged on the Photo-Journalists and brutally tortured with pistol and fist and threatened of dire consequences. When journalists of Larkana approached District Police Officer Larkana for the incident and complained against the Ratodero SHO, but the DPO Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh was reluctant to take any action against the SHO Ratodero and favored his police officer. On the occasion, a large number of Journalists community and Sindh Sahafi Sangat Larkana, Dokri, Badah, Naudero, Ratodero, Mirokhan, Sijawal and other areas news men staged protest against the police behavior and brutall torture on electronic media cameramen Gregory and Aziz Khuhawar. They demanded strict action against the police inspector Asad Nabi Khichi, otherwise, the media person will enlarge their protest throughout.
