Islamabad: August 19, 2011. (PCP) World Minorities Alliance leader J Salik in a message on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day said that I pay tribute to men and women who work to save human lives and protect the health of people affected by emergencies, whether caused by conflicts or natural disasters and Hazards. “The day also reminds us the humanitarian staff who lost their lives serving others, I personally admire Workers and thank them for their dedication, and my highly tribute to those who have made ultimate sacrifices” said Julius Salik He further said that this is also a day to examine our lives what more we can do to help to reach out to people enduring conflicts, disasters and hardship .Being the humanitarian I pray for the peaceful and corruption free environment, I humbly request to all to leave our artificial attitude and have positive and constructive attitude toward the betterment of Humanity. J Salik released here today copy of the nomination letter written by then Premier Benazir Bhutto to the Nobel Committee for Peace award to him, when he was federal minister for Population Planning in her cabinet. J Salik was elected by Christian votes as Member of National assembly of Pakistan and on human services Benazir Bhutto invited him to join her cabinet which he cordially accepted. Here we are presenting matter of letter of nomination for Nobel Peace Prize written to Chairman of Nobel Award Committee nominating J Salik. 10April 1996 Dear Chairman, The flame of liberty shines brightest in the dark , thus for Julius Salik, General Zia,s Decade of dictatorship was his finest hour, while other individuals and parties struggled Against military rule, Mr Salik,s was the loneliest path for he fought not only for democracy , but for the rights of the minorities as well. Frequently jailed and beaten by the junta, he soldiered on despite the hardship he endured. 2. Even After the restoration of democracy in Pakistan Julius Salik has found many causes to espouse. He has invited Bosnia during the peak of that murderous civil war to pray for peace. His peace education Foundation of Pakistan is the hub of activity aimed at the promotion of peace and goodwill. With his elevation to federal Minister, Mr., Salik is now well-placed to protect the rights of minorities, the weak and the downtrodden. Indeed, his concerns reflect this government’s commitment to the exploited sections of the population. 3. Born in a modest Christian home in Lahore in 1948, Julius Salik has spent the last 20years in his tireless crusade for the peace and liberty. In Particular, his courageous defense of the rights of Pakistani Christian highlighted their plight under Zia,s harsh and benighted dictatorship . In one incident, he even burnt his belongings in public to dramatize the persecution of the Christian minority. For many Pakistanis. Julius Salik has become the nation’s conscience. But his passion for peace transcends national frontiers during the Iran- Iraq war; he undertook a long peace march. And he publically appealed to Iranian leaders to release American diplomats during the hostage crises. Mr. Salik ha s consistently raised his voice to protest human rights violations wherever they occur. 4. we can think of no worthier candidate for this year,s Noble Peace Prize and, as the leader of the House , I have the honour to nominate Mr., Julius Salik for this year’s award (Benazir Bhutto) CC To Chairman, Noble Peace Prize Committee Drammensvin -19 0255 Oslo Norway
