Kasur: November 16, 2011. (PCP) Vast Vision Ministry organized a prayer meeting in Paul Memorial Church Kasur on 13th of November 2011, International Day of Prayers (IDOP) for Persecuted Church, in remembrance of believers in Pakistan those who are under fire of persecution, imprisoned, killed, tortured and mistreated just because of their Christian faith. Vast Vision Ministry is a Christian organization working for sharing gospel among kids those who are condemned to do labor work in conditions of slavery at brick factories through Sunday schools and youth meetings. Vast Vision Ministry took initiative to conduct a prayer meeting on “International Day of Prayers” for persecuted church around the world because it is observed that this day is not well known in Pakistani Churches. The main objective of this prayer meeting was to give awareness to Christians about IDOP so that they may stand along with international Christian community in prayers for thousands of Christians around the world who are suffering persecution in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Shahzad Kamran gave brief introduction of this international day Perhaps 320 Christians, including Vast Vision Ministry’s Sunday school teachers participated in the prayer meeting held on November 13, 2011. They prayed for Pakistani Christian martyrs, prisoners of faith, those who are tortured and mistreated due to their Christian faith. Church members prayed for protection and justice and release of a Pakistan Christian lady named Asia Bibi who is sentenced to death over Blasphemy accusation. Church members also prayed for protection of other Christians suffering imprisoned under Blasphemy laws in Pakistani jails, some are in death cells. Vast Vision Ministry’s Director Mr. Shahzad Kamran urged church members to pray for peace and justice to Christian victims of Gojra riots, village Bahmini Wala Kasur and other villagers. In these villages Christians’ houses were burnt, and Christians experienced high level of persecution. In Gojra incident seven Christians were burnt alive. A special prayer was said by the church members for Christian martyrs Rashid and Sajid both brothers from District Faisalabad. Their family members are still on run to save their lives. Church members also remembered Qamar David who was detained in prison in Karachi under blasphemy case and was died in prison. Mr. Shahzad Kamran director of Vast Vision Ministry threw light on situation of Christians in Afghanistan facing death threats, in Uzbekistan, Nigeria and North Korea where Christians are facing lots of persecutions. Prayer points given to congregation: 1. Pray for the persecuted Christian around the world especially in Afghanistan, Nigeria, Uzbekistan and North Korea. 2. Pray for the Christian prisoners under blasphemy trials or sentenced to death, for their peace, comfort and justice. 3. Pray for families of faith prisoners because they are also facing miserable circumstances. 4. Pray for victims of Gojra, Koriyan and Faisalabad’s incidents where Christian was maltreated there is still not justice to them. Vast Vision Ministry wants to spread awareness in Churches about International Day of Prayers for persecuted church because people do not know about this day. It is important to urge people to be very wise in responding persecution according to the will of God because if we will not learn from persecution in Holy Bible there will not right impact in growth of church. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us… “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you... If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you... because they do not know Him who sent Me. (John 15:18-21) “These things I have spoken to you that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues [today it might be from churches]; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them." John 16:1-4 "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one." John 17:14-18 "And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased." Galatians 5:11 Vast Vision Ministry wants to urge Pakistani Christians to stand alongside with international Christian community in prayers for their fellow believers suffering persecution around the world and to be strong in faith during persecution with true Christian spirit.
