Women humiliated by BISP officials

LARKANA: January 9, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) A large number of women from remote areas at Benazir Income Supported Program Larkana were brutally thrashed, while Journalists were also humiliated over a rude behavior of the officials here at BISP regional office. The officials of BISP Larkana brutally tortured and shouted on hundreds of poor and old women, when they reached at Bank along with BISP regional office Larkana for receiving their payments. Journalists’ community observed and enquired few women, but the media personals were also disrespected and faced an autocratic behavior by the BISP staff. The media men could not be entered in the office premises due to humiliation, while the malpractices were witnessed several agents taking bribe on the occasion. Journalists’ community has condemned such act and humiliation against deprived and poor women from far flung areas. Later, three women were injured due to the mismanagement of BISP staff while receiving stipend told protesting women here on Monday. Several women staged protest against the non-provision of BISP mobile and stipend and complained the officials identified Nadeem Abbasi and others they told. BISP officials tried to facilitate their favorites such act annoyed to women they protested against the BISP officials. More over the BISP staff tired to disburse the protesters and pulled out women from gate resulting, several women fell down and injured among Saira, Ameena, Gul Khatoon, Huzoorana and others. Talking to media men protesting women told that BISP staff has humiliated poor women and there is no any discipline and maintenance of row to facilitate old age women but concerned officials are deliberately mismanaging all. They alleged women said agents are receiving bribe from the women to get stipend, they appealed to Chairperson BISP and federal and provincial government to take notice of matter, provide relief to poor women and deploy women police for facilitation of women.
