Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) appeals to all the peoples of Pakistan and other countries of the world to donate generously and help our brothers and sisters, who are deeply distressed, following the disastrous earthquake that hit Pakistan and has claimed thousands of lives. Over 90,000 people are feared dead in some of the worst hit districts of Azad Kashmir, Muzzarabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Bagh, Neelum Valley and Islamabad etc. The biggest natural disaster of South Asia has paralyzed the entire Kashmir region. The huge earth quake that was felt in both Pakistan as well as across the sub-continent, including Afghanistan at varied intensities. It had inflicted highest disaster on the people of Pakistan-Kashmir and NWFP destroying villages and towns leaving several thousand dead and injured. Communist Party of Pakistan disaster response team is coordinating relief efforts in some of the worst hit districts of the recent quake in Azad Kashmir, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad and Islamabad etc. The CPP has its units in these districts and areas and its comrades are visiting the effected areas with members of other relief agencies, so that emergency relief supplies can be given to these people. The Communist Party of Pakistan has set up its Relief Operations Unit at the Communist Party Secretariat, House No. 1426, Fateh Jang Chowk, Attock Cantonment,(Mob: 0092-300-9543331 and Tel: 0092-57-2611426) in Pakistan and all relief efforts are being coordinated from there. Essential items need to help victims: * Tents * Water * Blankets and Medicines * Food Items ( Rice, Sugar, Wheat, Onions, Potatoes, Cooking oil) * Cross Cheque ( Account No. 7356-0, Branch Code 0315, National Bank of Pakistan, Main Branch, Attock, Pakistan) * Any other house hold items. The CPP and other civil society organizations have arranged special vehicles to collect and send necessary supplies from Attock to the disaster areas.
