Miss Canada Pakistan Inc. sent the first ever Pakistani delegate to the third largest pageant in the world, Miss Earth 2005. Naomi Zaman represented Pakistan once before in the Miss Tourism Pageant held in China. Being Miss Pakistan Earth 2005, Naomi Zaman, introduced her project for Pakistan's present air pollution situation. What's more amazing is that she presented this is Philippines own language, Tagalog. Due to the earthquake that has happened, Miss Canada Pakistan Inc., along with Miss Pakistan Earth 2005, Naomi Zaman will be actively participating in charities to raise funds for the victims of this devastating earthquake that took place in Pakistan. Naomi Zaman has sent her heartfelt sympathies, from Manila, and has said that she will be coming back to her community with the aim of help out as many charities in order to raise funds for the victims of this tragedy. "I am very sorry for all the people in my country and as soon as I came to know about this I called home to first find out if everyone was okay. Thank god my relatives are fine, and all I can do is pray for the fast recovery of my people. I am very proud to be representing my beloved Pakistan at this time and will do proudly, and I will be dedicating my time to charities in order to help the people of Pakistan," Naomi Zaman, Miss Pakistan Earth 2005. Naomi Zaman, who once before brought Pakistan on the map in the entertainment world, by taking part in Miss Tourism International and wining two titles in talent, was consoled by her friends: Miss Egypt, Miss Paraguay & Miss Malaysia as she held back tears when she read the headlines of the local newspaper in Philippines.Carousel organized and launched in 2001 the MISS EARTH Beauty Pageant, beauty event whose raison d'etre was to have its candidates and winners actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth. This year's pageant will be represented by 80 beauties from different countries worldwide and the winner will have to fulfill her sworn duties and obligations as the Global Representative of Mother Earth and to help raise the environmental consciousness of the people. Some of the activities the contestants did this year were: planting trees, going to seminars about the environment and visiting children in schools. Also taking part in this pageant is Niharika Singh- Miss India Earth 2005, the second runner up of Femina Miss India 2005.
