Philadelphia: July 30, 2012. (PCP) In a spectacular event at Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz’s headquarters, Manny Alam aka Manawar Alam of Cardone Industries, Inc. was recognized as 2012 “WHO’s WHO?” Mr. Alam hails from Lahore, Pakistan. After completing his master’s in economics from the prestigious Forman Christian College, he moved to USA in 1976. He furthered his education by completing an MBA at the Philadelphia University. Being a key executive at the Cardone Industries, he was able to help employ over 100 Pakistani Christian individuals; hence he single-handedly became the reason for large presence of Pakistani Christians in the Philadelphia area. In addition, Mr. Alam is a very vocal human rights activist and helped in forming the first Pakistani civic organization called Pakistani-American Christian Association (PACA). PACA is also part of Pakistani American Congress (PAC), an umbrella of 70 Pakistani American organizations and Manny Alam is part of its executive board. He has also served as commissioner for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 8 years in the Governor’s South Asian Affair’s Advisory commission.
