Daniel Gill of Lahore makes Guineas World Record for Pakistan

Lahore; October 25, 2012: (Pervez Yousaf) This news will be read with great happiness by all the Pakistani readers that Daniel Gill of Lahore made Guineas World Record for Pakistan on October 21, 2012 during the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 in the event of Football Headings held at Expo Centre. He knocked the football 335 times with his forehead just in 4 minutes and 46 seconds and succeeded to record his name in the Guineas book of world record. During this event Rizwan Qamar was the second striker on the opposite end. Daniel Gill earned this precious award through the platform of Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) where he trains children and youth being a football coach. Daniel belongs to a prominent Christian family of Lahore which is also known as the Football Family because of its passion for football. His brothers including Emmanuel Gill, Lazar Gill, Ezra Gill, Samuel Gill and David Gill have also been playing football for different clubs and organizations. Daniel Gill began playing football for Bata Shoes Company from 1970 when he was still a high school student. During this time he played several national and domestic tournaments in categories of under 14, under 16 and under 18. In 1985 he joined Pakistan Railways and represented his team in All Pakistan and National Championships. He represented Punjab University (Blue colour) in the Pakistan Grants Commission Inter University Championship held in Sri Lanka in 1986. He also participated in SAF games in Islamabad during the year 1989. He headed American International School, Lahore as a coach during its tour to Japan in 1994. He attended AFC coaching course in 2007 and from 2006 to date he is serving as a coach at Model Town Football Academy in Lahore which is run by Mian Rizwan. It is to be remembered that Punjab Youth Festival 2012 inaugurated on October 20, 2012 by Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab. The festival began by making Guineas world record in singing national anthem by more than forty two thousand people with one voice. Among other records, making of a human national flag by more than 24,000 children and youth is another remarkable achievement of this festival which is still on the go.
