Lahore: February 8, 2013. (Fr. Inayat Bernard) January 26, 2013: The first mini convention was organized in the centre of Babu Zulfiqar Joseph at Amin Park in the Year of faith declared by the Holy Father Pope Benedict the XVI from 11th October 2012 till 24th November 2013. With his 11 catechist s parish priest Fr. Inayat Bernard has planned to have a mini convention every month preaching the 12 articles of faith of the Apostles’ Creed. The first article was I BELIVE IN THE FATEHR ALMIGHT; CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. Fr. Inayat Bernard told the multi-denominational congregation of around 200 people that God is the father who has shown himself in the Holy Bible as the creator and caretaker. He said to remember three personalities of the Bible as far their faith was concerned. First was Abraham who believed in the Creator and took his son to the mountain to be sacrificed. He said that as a father Abraham must have thought how can this be that the Almighty gave him the son in his old age and now He was asking his sacrifice. Humanly speaking it should have been very hard but due to this act of taking his son to the mountain Abraham is called the father of Believers. Second personality to remember was that of Moses who believed in the powerful hand of God who brought the people of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt after 430 years of slavery. Moses broke the two tables of ten commandments and let the people drink out of the water of the ashes from that golden calf as their penance for their disbelief. Third personality to remember regarding faith was that of St. Peter. When he was focused on Jesus Christ he was able to walk on water of Sea of Galilee but as soon he is distracted he is about to be drowned. The distractions of life may weaken our faith but when we are focused on the Lord then we will be victorious. He told the worshippers that we believe in the creator of heaven and earth and we are honored to be his creatures. We are expected to have faith in Him and be His witness of His mercy and love for all human beings. The Creator takes care of each and every human being and all creation. He is above all things and if we submit ourselves to His will He is always at our side and provides what is necessary for each one of us. One of the catechists said that it will be a chance to revive the faith of our people who go to different fortune tellers and hopefully they will trust in the Lord completely as compared to other gods and superstitions will be over. Another lady from Amin Park said that the three personalities from the Bible will help our faith by looking at their faith in the Lord. The second mini convention will take place in the third week of February in a another Catechist’s locality.
