(Abbas Kassar) Pakistan Muslim League leaders of Sindh alongwith represetatives of Christians and Hindus have lauded the immediate start of rehabilitation work of homes of Joseph colony, Badami Bagh, Lahore that were razed to ground few days ago by assailants and said that the performance and governance of Shahbaz Sharif chief minister of Punjab was examplary in comparison with chief minister of Sindh who was still in deep slumber and had not visited the affected Abbas town in Karachi where more than 50 persons were killed and hundreds injured. The leaders of PML(N) leaders Khiyal Das Kohistani of party's minority wing, Madam Sorath Thebo, MNA Bhawandas, Hindu Panchayet's Dr. Dileep Daultani, Sindh Kolhi Ittehad president Rinshaldas, senior N league leader and Christian Siddiq Nawaz, Christian leader Karamat Chohan, father Khadim Sabir, father Victor Sardar and Noor Muhammad Mallah were addressing news conference here on Thursday. They expressed sorrow and grief on the incident of Badami Bagh and termed it as conspiracy to defame Pakistan image. They said the alleged blasphemy accused was arrested then there was no justification to punish whole Christian area by attack, arson and pulling down around 200 houses. They said these element were never friends of Pakistan and Islam. They said they smell the conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif's increasing popularity and that is why Christians were made target of terrorism. They were of the view that by reaching immediately on the spot chief minister of Punjab foiled the conspiracy. They chided Sindh chief minister Qaim Ai Shah who according to them has not visited the terrorist affected Abbas town despite passage of one week the victims of which were passing days under open sky. They also lauded efforts of minority wing Punjab leader Kamran Michael towards reducing the grief of Badami Bagh affectees.
Meanwhile the leaders of Christian and Hindu community who accompanied PML(N) leaders during press conference at Hyderabad press club also spoke on the occasion supported the dual vote right for their community and said that they were against selection of assembly members on reserved seats and instead demanded the campaign launched by Pakistan Christian Congress led by Dr. Nazir Bhatti that minorities in Pakistan be given right to elect their own parliamentarians who could raise the voice against atrocities with them. The selected assembly members instead of raising voice for their community follow the policy of party which had selected them on reserved seats.
Apart from above the Christian leaders Siddiq Nawaz( well known to people of Sindh for his J.Salik like style of protests opposite Hyderabad press club),Karamat Chohan, father Victor Sardar, father Khadim Sabir on a question supported the demand of Pakistan Christian Congress for separate province for Christians in Pakistan as they were of the view that Christians in this country counted more than 20 million but they said it was an arduous struggle that may take long time. . However they said they were not in favour of boycott of elections as they said in that case they will be deprived of whatever representation in assemblies.
