LARKANA: April 19, 2013. (Nazir Siyal) The faculty members of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana participated in a tree plantation drive at Chandka Medical College (CMC) premises here on Thursday and Friday. On the occasion, more than 200 flowers and trees were planted by the senior faculty staff led by Vice Chancellor Professor Akber Hyder Soomro along with Professor Sher Mohammed Shaikh, Professor Assadullah Mahar, Dr. Jokhio, Dr. Shahid Siddiqui and others. The staff and faculty planted around 200 different kinds of trees at CMC different locations; they said people should participate in making better environment by tree plantation in different parts of district. Professors said that they feel joy over the plantation of tree means a birth of child as for the new and positive environment sharing in the activities they said. Meanwhile, caretaker provincial Minister for environment and energy Mohammed Sharif Ansari has said that the 22 April 2013 will be celebrated the day of environmental pollution in Sindh province. He said the people will celebrate by the tree plantation in every nook and corner of the province for better environment and pollution. He said the day should be celebrated all over the schools, colleges, universities, gardens, lawns, roads and streets, government buildings and everywhere to take part on national level tree plantation drive for better environment. Ansari emphasized the NGOs, Educationist, Civil society to play their role in the tree plantation and making a better environment to clean their houses and streets roads. They should come forward to participate to make a beautiful earthly environment fresh, clean and green world. On the occasion, Commissioner Larkana Ghulam Mustafa Phul, Deputy Commissioner Umer Farooq Bullo, Aditional Commissioner I and II, TMA and others have appealed the citizens to be a responsible to make the city clean and participate voluntarily in the cleanliness and removal of garbage.
