Karachi: May 5, 2013. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned Kacha Khoh Police of District Khanewal on illegally detaining Christian women and men of Christian village Chack Number 31/10-R, which was attacked by Muslims equipped with fire arms on April 26, 2013.
On a petty dispute among one Christian and one Muslim farmer on using agricultural equipment in Chack number R-32/10 of district Khanewal turned up in an armed attack by Muslims who gathered to teach lesson a Christian infidel who dared to argue with a Muslim.
The Muslims mob equipped with guns attacked Christian houses and started firing and breaking their doors on which Christian jumped up to their home roofs and started throwing bricks on Muslim attackers who were discriminately firing to kill them.
During firing one Muslim was shot by the firing of his fellow Muslim attackers who died on spot on which Attackers stepped back from Christian neighborhood and shouted “Infidels have killed a Muslim and now its duty of every Muslim to wage Jihad and kill every Christian infidel of village”. Meanwhile, the mosques of nearby Muslim villages announced at loudspeakers “Muslim it’s your Islamic duty to unite and kill women, children and men of village R-32/10”.
On worsening situation, the fearful Christians telephoned Rescue Police and informed on gathering of Muslims from nearby villages to attack them. The District of Khanewal Police which quick and police force was deployed to stop further riots.
The area Police Station of Kacha Khoh registered murder case against 5 Christians and asked Christians to leave village for safety of their life and property.
It is important to note that when in 1997, a Christian village named Shanti Nagar was attacked by Muslim mob that burnt down hundreds of homes and more than dozen Churches in same district of Khanewal, the police registered a case under riots, to show that it was not an attack but fight among two religious communities. In a Muslim mob attack on Gojra where more than sixty homes of Christians set on fire and heinous crime was committed by Muslim attackers of burning 7 women, children and an elder man alive, the police registered case under riots, which was later used as a weapon by Muslim administration to force Christians to forgive Muslims. Same attacks on village Korian, Bahmanwali and Chianwali by Muslim mobs were registered under acts of riots to legally protect Muslim attackers.
In Muslim mob attack on Christian village R-32/10, where Muslim attackers were using lethal weapon in which Christians were also injured and Muslim was killed by firing of his fellow attackers, the area police not registered under riots but to safe Muslim attackers denied application of Christians to file FIR against Muslim attackers but register FIR under Section 302, 301, 324 PPC against Christian victims.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti expressed concerns on raids of Punjab police on homes of activists of one NGO that approached to surface facts of attack but police claimed that civil society is protecting Christians who are named in murder FIR of Muslim attacker.
Nazir Bhatti demanded Inspector General Punjab Police and Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Province to immediately take action against DPO Khanewal and SHO of Kacha Khoh Police Station and to appoint impartial investigation officers to ensure justice to Christian victims of Muslim mob attacks.
Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Chief raised question “The Christian women and children of Chack R-32/10 and Christians of other 10 village of same areas have fled from their homes after April 26, 2013 of Muslims in fear of life: Are these hundreds of Christians not citizens of Pakistan who fled from their homes, where is their right of safety and security as guaranteed in constitution of Pakistan to every citizen?”
