Karachi: June 9, 2013. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to denationalize Christian Schools, Colleges and Hospitals which were nationalized by ZA Bhutto government of Pakistan Peoples Party PPP in 1971. The Missionary Schools, Colleges and Hospitals were nationalized by ZA Bhutto government in provinces of Punjab and Sindh where PPP was in power after 1970 elections while National Awami Party NAP of Khan Abdul Wali Khan and Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam of Mufti Mahmood governments in provinces of NWFP (Newly named Khyber Pukhtoon Khawa KPK) and Balochistan refused to nationalize missionary schools, colleges and hospitals. Its on record that only those missionary schools and colleges in Sindh and Punjab were nationalized which were Urdu medium while English medium or convent schools where children of rich Muslims studied were not nationalized. The ZA Bhutto government enter in an agreement with Catholic Bishops and Protestant Churches Bishops in Pakistan to not nationalize properties of these schools, colleges and hospitals but to pay rents of buildings which was never paid ever by ZA Bhutto or any other government. During Pervez Musharraf government, FC College Lahore was denationalized but it was handed over to a Presbyterian Church based in USA and some Catholic Schools were given to a Catholic organization registered in Ireland. There Murray College Sialkot, Gordon College Rawalpindi, St. Patrick College Karachi and more than 70 High Schools are not denationalized and running under government of Punjab and Sindh. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said " During different governments of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto of PML (N) and PPP many government corporations were privatized but non of these regimes ever considered to denationalize Christian Schools, Colleges and Hospitals" Commenting on inclusion of Senator Kamran Michael in cabinet of Nawaz Sharif, PCC chief said " Kamran Michael not deserve any comments because he is selected by a part Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz group PML (N) which is involved in Muslim mob attacks on Christians in Punjab and valuable land brabbing of "Gosh-e-Aman" in Lahore. Kamran Michael is black spot on his father Mr. Micael,s struggle for Christian rights under leadership of veteran leader Nawabzada Nusrullaha Khan who always favored election on Christian reserved seats for minorities instead of Selection" Dr. Bhatti appealed Catholic Bishops Conference not to own Kamran Michael as Catholic because he was involved in land grabbing of "Gosha-e-Aman' and attack on Joseph Colony Lahore by Muslim mob with Pakistan Muslim League PML (N) Muslim leaders. Nazir Bhatti said as a token of gesture to Christian, the denationalization of missionary schools, colleges and hospitals in Punjab will be welcomed.
