Gujranwala: July 20, 2013. (Shamim Masih)A Christian laborer severely beaten and killed but reported to police that he has committed suicide.
According to the sources, Pavaiz Masih, 25, was newly married to Nazia Bibi several years ago. Couple was working at agricultural land of their landlord Sarwat Bibi w/o Mehar Faiz, resident of Kotli Mehlaan, Distt. Gujranwala. On Sunday, 14th July, Mehar Hassan Fiaz and Hamza Faiz had beaten him brutally to death. When they found him died they gave him poisonous tablets and reported his family that he had committed suicide.
Nazia Parvez (wife of deceased) told on phone that landlord brothers blamed him of stealing some goods and beaten him severely to death.
Wife of the deceased requested the Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Chief Minister, Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the incident and to take strict action against the culprits.
