(PCP) Insan Dost Association (IDA) has been selected for an international award called the International Bremen Peace Award in the Category of Exemplary organization for 2013 by the Stiftung die schwelle (http://dieschwelle.de/en/peace-award/peace-award-2013/prize-winner/news/a-stony-path-to-freedom-in-pakistan-insan-dost-association.html).
Every two years the schwelle Foundation selects nominees for the Bremen Peace Award – "crossing thresholds - breaking vicious circles". With this award foundation honor people and organizations that lead with a good example in their work for Peace, Justice and the Integrity of Creation.
People and organizations involved in peace promotion worldwide nominate individuals and projects for the award. Out of these, the Jury of the schwelle Foundation selects award winners of the following three categories: •Unknown Peace Worker •Exemplary Organisation •Public Engagement
With this award foundation make visible encouraging examples of convincing peace work that have yet remained unknown to the broader public.
In April 2013, The board of the Foundation in Bremen, Germany choose IDA as one of the three award winners of the Bremen Peace Award 2013 in the category Exemplary organisation. The other two award winners are Ms Natalia Sarapuro from Argentina and Ms and Mr von Bernstorff from Germany.
It is first time that a Pakistani organization has been granted this award.

Winner 2005 Mediator between Religions in Nigeria: Interfaith Mediation Centre (Nigeria)
Winners 2003 Parents Circle Families Forum (Palestine)
IDA was proposed by the Örestad Lokala Samorganisation, Malmo, Sweden.
The Peace Prize will be awarded on November 29, 2013 at 6 pm in the Town Hall in Bremen.
