Karachi: October 5, 2013. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has urged government of Pakistan to initiate dialogue with Tehreek Talban Pakistan TTP after clarification of their statement that attack on Peshawar Church just according to Islamic Sharia Laws.
The spokesperson of Pakistani Talban Shahid Ullaha Shahid talking with BBC claimed that TTP is not responsible for suicide attack on All Saints Church Peshawar but attack is an Islamic act under Sharia laws.
Double suicide attack on All Saints Church Peshawar on September 22, 2013, killed more than one hundred Christian worshipers and injured one hundred and forty six.
Jandulha, a faction of Talban, operating in Punjab province of Pakistan under umbrella of Punjabi Talban, accepted responsibility of attack on Church in Peshawar but TTP which operates from Federal Administered Tribal Areas FATA denied that Talban were involved in it.
The government of Pakistan called All Parties Conference on September 9, 2013, which was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in attendance with all Muslim political parties leaders but none was invited from religious minorities.
The All Parties Conference concluded to hold dialogues with Tehreek Talban Pakistan TTP to restore peace in Pakistan on conditions of declaration by TTP to honor constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and parliament of Pakistan.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Ahmadiyyia are integral part of constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan while statement of TTP spokesperson to justify attack on Peshawar Church under Islamic Sharia laws is denial to conditions set for dialogues by All Parties Conference of September 9, 2013”
“The government of Pakistan must clarify its stance on dialogue with TTP after statement of TTP spokesperson that weather its constitutional bound to protect religious minorities and their worship places or will go ahead on dialogues on blood of minorities” added Nazir Bhatti
PCC Chief said that Christians played positive role in formation of Pakistan and deserve due right in resources of federation of Pakistan but they have been pushed out of mainstream politics with imposition of Sharia laws like blasphemy laws and by snatching their voting rights to elect their own representation with their votes in Parliament.
“The elected parliament in 18th Amendment in Constitution repealed all laws and orders of military dictator Zia-Ul-Haq but never touched blasphemy laws which was used to victimize religious minorities and now one step forward TTP is justifying attack on Churches and massacre of Christian under same Islamic Sharia laws” said Nazir Bhatti
Dr. Nazir Bhatti demanded repeal of blasphemy laws and restoration of election system instead of selection on their reserved seats in parliament before entering in dialogues with Tehreek Talban Pakistan TTP or Thehreek Talban Punjab.
