CCA holds annual Christmas Banquet 2013

Toronto: November 25, 2013. (PCP) The Canadian Christian Association CCA would like to thank everyone present at its annual sold-out Christmas Banquet 2013; more than 550 attended the event, held at Woodbine Banquet & Convention Hall, on Saturday, November 16. Mr. Sohail Pervaiz, Secretary of CCA, said the welcoming remarks; Masters of Ceremony were Azmat Khuram, and Haroon Pervaiz, supported by Daniel Niamat and Tim Iqbal. Opening prayer was offered by Rev. James Luke, food was blessed by Pastor Benjamin, and closing prayer was offered by Dr. David Charles. The Guests of Honor were Hon. Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Hon. Brad Butt - MP - Mississauga—Streetsville, Hon. Stella Ambler – MP – Mississauga South and Hon. Wladyslaw Lizon MP – Mississauga East – Cooksville President Canadian Christian Association, Mr. John Gill, BSc. Eng., MBA, welcomed all the guests of honor especially, Hon. Minister Chris Alexander, who for the first time attended the event of our community and acknowledged their close relationship with CCA. In addition, Mr. Gill also welcomed the Pastors, heads of other community organizations, and the audience present in the event. Moreover, he gave a snapshot of the CCA’s work and accomplishments for 2013, during which CCA undertook 18 events and initiatives, especially the project relating to Joseph Colony Lahore, Pakistan. Prof. Obaid Chaudry, CPA, CMA., CA., Chair United Toronto Christian Convention, and past president CCA, introduced Minister Chris Alexander, and acknowledge his great accomplishments in a short period of time; he also gave his best wishes to him in his new role. Minister Alexander inspired the attendees with his touching speech and extended his Christmas wishes to everyone. In addition, he presented awards to the team of Joseph Colony project, and welcomed the new immigrants. Hon. Brad Butt, Hon. Wladyslaw Lizon, and Hon. Stella Ambler also gave Christmas greetings, and presented awards and gifts to outstanding players, colleges and universities graduates, and new immigrants. In addition, messages from the Prime Minister of Canada, Rt. Honorable Stephen Harper and Hon. Minister Jason Kenney were also read. Pastor Doug Rhind, senior pastor of PORTICO Community Church, thanked CCA for implementing the Joseph Town project with utmost integrity, transparency, and accountability. At the end, Mr. John Gill thanked everyone for their continued overwhelming support & trust extended to CCA.
