Islamabad: January 30, 2014. (PCP) Salik Free Blood Testing Service is the new step by Overseas Assembly Pakistan. This is the service which will make it possible to investigate health for the people below the line of poverty. Convener Overseas Assembly Pakistan Dr. J Salik worked really hard for this project. It was his wish from a very long time to provide health facilities on the door steps of the people who are less caring about their health. His tireless efforts made his dream true for dishearten and careless of the country. The project is almost ready and inauguration ceremony will be held in very near future. For this purpose a special van is wrapped with awareness messages which will carry qualified team of Overseas Assembly Pakistan to different slums for their health issues and blood investigations. An online Doctor will also be available from USA to advice on major issues. The purpose of diagnostic test is to check the presence (or absence) of disease as a basis for treatment decisions in symptomatic or screen positive individuals (confirmatory test). Due to certain reasons people are reluctant to these activities. Such as, they do not like hospitals, do not believe on tests and cannot afford it. We provide them free diagnostic tests. We create awareness among them. Lab. assistant, Nurse, Assistant nurse and driver will visit targeted areas and collect the samples. After that, tested in laboratory and report will be provided to the concern family. At that moment, we convinced healthy people to donate blood for thalessemia patients and provide medication for suffering individuals. We perform following diagnostic tests. 1. Hepatic and renal function with blood sugar 2. Complete Blood Count (Hemoglobin (Hb), Red blood cell (RBC) count, White blood cell (WBC) count, White blood cell differential count, Platelet count) 3. Lipid Panel: Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Triglycerides 4. TSH Thyroid conditions are very common Note: They people are advised do not eat anything and only drink water for 10-12 hours, for having blood sugar and cholesterol tests (lipid profile).
