LAHORE: February 3, 2014. (PCP) According to LEAD, a human right organization based in Lahore, the Lahore High Court LHC have admitted petition to cancel bails of 36 Muslim attackers who were involved in burning homes of Christians of Joseph Colony, Bedami Bagh, Lahore in 2013. On 22 January 2014, the DB (Double Bench), consisting of Honorable Justice Mr. Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Honorable Justice Mr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, has passed order that the petition is admitted declaring that the occurrence was highlighted through the world which resulted into bad image for Pakistan as unsafe place for minorities and also order to notice the alleged accused to appear in court on next date of hearing. The case was adjourned and next date of hearing will be fixed in office. The 36 key suspects were among 83 radicals/fundamentalists granted bail in May,2013 from Anti-Terrorism Court No II, Lahore ,despite evidence they were involved in incendiarism of some more than 180 Christian-homes, shops, house hold belongings and two churches in Lahore. The March 8-9,2013 turmoil were kindled by a Christian man Savan Masih's alleged derogatory remarks about Islam's Prophet Muhammad. Masih had denied the blasphemy allegation but he is behind the bars and still awaiting for justice. "We are deeply concerned about the safety of the accused committing blasphemy such as Asia Bibi, Sawan Masih,Asif Pervaiz and Pastor Adnan,and all other who are in Pakistani jails and are in wait of justice," explained Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill,chief of LEAD. "We have also deep concerned about bondage labour and for one Christian woman who was brutal and badly beaten and tortured by the owner of brick kiln in Kasur,and for those case which remain unreported" added Gill. LEAD request to all Human Rights Organizations to stand with us and struggle to abolish this bondage labour in Pakistan.
