Lahore: March 25, 2014. (Fr. Inayat Bernard and Nabeel Chrysostum) A seminar took place in connection of Tazkara-e-Masihi Mashaheer. This programme was presided by Col (R) Aneel Madin and speakers were Michelle Chaudhry and Jamil Anthony. The responsibility of MC was done by Mr. Victor Daniel. At the beginning a National Song (ye Watan Hamara hai) was sung by the Choir of St. Mary’s Seminary.
Nabeel Chrysostum (3rd year Seminarian) read about the Christian heroes from the book Sabz Hilai Parchum written by Azam Meraj. He threw light on the famous personalities who played their role in Pak Army and Air Force to save the country.
Michelle Chaudhry (Daughter of Group Captain®Cecil Chaudhry) spoke about the role of Christians in the Pak India Wars of 1965+1971. She said about her faqther that he was determined to join Pakistan Air Force and at the age of 24 he joined just after 7 days of his marriage. He fought in wars of 1965+1971. He retired in 1986 and served St. Anthony’s School as a principle. He died on 13th 2012 due to lung cancer.
Anthony Jameel (Bro-in-law of martyr Major Rauf Sarmus) shared that Rauf was a nice and brave person. He used to listen to Psalms and Hymns. Rauf faced difficulties due to his faith but he always remained strong in it.
Col ®Anel Madin said in his presidential address that he served the country for 29 years. He also told that he was treated by the discrimination of faith in the period of Zia-ul-Haq. Dr. Kanwal Feroze recited his poem about Peace.
In his introduction Fr. Inayat Bernard, Rector of St. Mary’s Seminary said that the purpose of the seminar Tazkara-e-Masihi Mashaheer is to introduce different Christian heroes who have played their role in the creation of Pakistan and its stability. He said that on the 22nd February the seminar was held to highlight the Christian contribution in the fields of literature and journalism. Mr. Victor Daniel was the main speaker of the seminar and talked in detail about other fields as well.
Today we are gathered here to pay homage to the Christian heroes and martyrs who served the country and gave their lives in the fields of Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force. Our purpose is to let the new generation know about their heroes and appreciate their services. At the same time we expect to strengthen them in their self-confidence and come out of the inferiority complex and offer their sincere services in different fields of life.
He informed the audience that Mr. Azam Maraj of Karachi has worked hard to print the book called Sabzo Sufaid Halali Parchum kay muhafizo Shuhda. He made an effort to collect the data and was determined to cover two areas only. He expresses from Karachi to also know about the heroes in the fields of Pakistan Navy.

Several heroes are mentioned in this book but we shall concentrate on two deceased heroes Group Captain ® Cecil Chaudhry and Martyr Major Sermus Rauf. At the same time we thank the Lord for the presence of another hero Col ® Anel Madan.
