Lahore: March 31, 2014. (PCP) Gulsher, a Pakistani Catholic Christian and longtime family driver of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti, flees from Pakistan after life threats to him and his family according to information revealed to Pakistan Christian Post by very reliable sources.
On March 2, 2011, when terrorists of Tehreek Talban Pakistan TTP attacked car of Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti in capital city of Pakistan Islamabad, Gulsher was driving his car. According to national media of Pakistan, the TTP terrorists ordered Gulsher on gunpoint to run away and sprayed bullets on Shahbaz Bhatti and stayed on crime scene till confirmation of his death. The terrorists also spread Pamphlets on dead body of Federal Minority Minister to warn same fate to others who will dare to speak any amendment or repeal in Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and admitting responsibility of assassination of Pakistani Catholic Christian minister.
It was daily routine of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti to leave police security escort at his official government residence and to go to his mother’s home in Islamabad from backdoor for night stay with his mother in a car which Gulsher was driving.
Shahbaz Bhatti and Gulsher both Pakistani Catholic Christians with links to Catholic Christian’s village Khuspur in district Faisalabad were confident of each other which is proof of keeping Gulsher his personal driver.
Gulsher was only eyewitness who saw faces of terrorists but government of Pakistan took him in custody for investigation and put him on 3rd degree torture for 17 days to name some Christians as killers of Shahbaz Bhatti.
The family members of Shahbaz Bhatti and leaders of his political group All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA left Gulsher on mercy of torture of Islamabad police while some Catholic Christians of village Khushpur became successful to bring him out of police torture cell. For months, Gulsher was unable to walk and was treated by his family at home.
Recently, when Al-Qaida link TTP terrorists were arrested from Islamabad who confessed killing of former minority minister Shahbaz Bhatti, the fear spread among family members of Shahbaz Bhatti, APMA leaders, the witnesses, eye witness and who was complainant in First Information Report FIR lodged on his killing with police as trial stated in anti-terrorist court.
As threat letters were sent from TTP to eye witnesses and complainant in trial to warn not to appear in court unless get ready to be killed, Gulsher was again left alone in Pakistan on mercy of terrorists.
Mr. Farrukh Saif, CEO of World Vision in Progress WVIP, a leading human rights organization of Pakistan, stepped forward to safe life of Gulsher and Rescue Christians arranged a safe location for him outside Pakistan.
PCP will publish detailed report on rescue of Gulsher by WVIP and threats to him tomorrow;
