Islamabad: April 24, 2014; (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance, Convener Overseas Assembly Pakistan, Former Federal Minister and Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize Dr. J Salik lead a combined lamentation demonstration against the threat of CDA operation along with a great number of residents of slums in front of National Press Club, Islamabad today in which they expressed their immense grief on injustice with minorities and the present situation of country. Play cards and banners were carried by the people of slums with slogans against CDA. He said that after snatching the social and political rights of minorities, now the conspiracy is to snatch the shelter of poor residents of slums even to make them homeless and deprived, while he was addressing to the people. It’s not only a very selfish and wrong decision but the words used for minorities by CDA are also very hateful and non-tolerating in which CDA said that the residents of slums should be sent to their native towns by loading them in trucks, he said. He said that these poor people of slums are residing here for last forty years and it is their native town. Someone should ask the bureaucrats that where the people from Amratsar and Jalandar should go, he said. He further said that Government has already occupied Christian’s properties illegally; School, Collages and the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan is constantly being ignored by the Government but the poor people of slums are being considered illegal who are living without any sort of facility. He said that the Government have snatched their rights, Ministry, Funds, political rights and even have given Sanitation department on Contract, in which more than 98% workers are Christians and now they are snatching their shelters. He also said that with this step more than 3000 Christian families will affect in Capital of Pakistan. The decision against slums is a terrible conspiracy against minorities that would not be succeeded at any cost. He announced “Jail Bharo” movement on the occasion and said that if the poor people of slums will become homeless, “Jail Bharo” movement will be started throughout the country because these homes of them are their Pakistan and if their Pakistan will be demolished they will present them selves for arrest as a protest. The ninety eight percent poor people of Pakistan are being ruled by two percent of Pakistanis, and these two percent people are constantly giving wrong and selfish decisions, he said. Asim Sajjad and farzana bari were present alongwith J.Salik at this occasion.
