Islamabad: April 29, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance, Convener Overseas Assembly Pakistan, Former Federal Minister and Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize Dr. J Salik has praised that the statement of Chief Justice Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jelani is a console and a ray of hope for minorities in which he said that “The role of judiciary is vital to develop the culture of tolerance in the society, Muslims are residing as minority in so many countries of the world and if we want them to have all rights including religious independence then we have to give complete rights to the minorities in Pakistan. Government should prepare clear legislation for the security of rights of minorities in Pakistan and the current year 2014 should be called as “The Year of Religious Tolerance” he said.” Dr. J Salik has said that after snatching the economical, social and political rights of minorities, now the conspiracy is to snatch the shelter of poor residents of slums even, to make them homeless and deprived. It’s only a selfish and wrong decision he said. He further said that Government has already occupied Christian’s properties illegally; (School, Collages) and the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan is constantly being ignored by the Government but the slums are being considered illegal. He said that the Government have snatched their rights, Ministry, Funds, political rights and even have given Sanitation department on Contract to a foreign country, in which more than 98% workers are Christians and now they are snatching their shelters. When every one is trying to snatch the rights of minorities, the statement of Chief Justice is not only an encouraging attempt but it is a ray of hope for them, he said. He said that the statement of Chief Justice showed that minorities are facing the issues of violation of rights.
