Lahore: May 2, 2014. (Pervez Yousaf) “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.…(1Cor. 12:4-6)” Fr. William Basharat OFM Cap referred while addressing the worshippers during a special thanksgiving Mass on the occasion of inauguration of Chands Music Productions a few days ago in St. Mary’s Church Gulberg Lahore. He further said, “(Late) Mr. Yousaf Chand was a very active faithful of our parish. He served St. Mary’s parish as general secretary of the parish council for more than two decades. He worked with (Late) Frs. Arnold, (Late) Nathaniel Bernard and Francis Nadeem OFM Caps. He provided them remarkable assistance in organizing numerous programmes in main and sub-stations of the St. Mary’s parish.” Exploring about his family Fr. William said that today his children and grandchildren are serving the parish with the same dedication. They are carrying out their volunteer services in different working teams of the Church including choir and youth group. He said that his family has established a Music Production House named after him. His youngest son Noukhez Yousaf who is a highly skilled musician is the head of this team. Today they are launching their music production house and offering the thanksgiving. Noukhez is also the major component of our Church choir along with his son Annan Noukhez, brother Sohail Yousaf and nephews Khurram Pervez, Sheroze Pervez, Sahil Sohail and Michael Yousaf. It is also notable that the eldest son of Mr. Chand, Pervez Yousaf is working with Fr. Francis Nadeem for about twelve years and assisting him in publishing monthly The Christian View International and organizing various programmes of interfaith harmony and promotion of peace. The launching ceremony took place at the end of the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. William Basharat OFM Cap. Bro. Lazar Aslam was also present in this thanksgiving Mass. Fr. William along-with the family members of Mr. Chand unveiled the banner of Chands Music Productions and cut the cake.
