Islamabad: May 7, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance, Convener Overseas Assembly Pakistan, Former Federal Minister and Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize Dr. J Salik lead a protest demonstration against the cruelty on slums today, in front of National Press Club, Islamabad. A great number of slums residents, pastors, youth and local public leaders were present on this occasion. People were carrying “Black Flags” and “Cross” in their hands. Mr. J Salik said that Quaid e Azam mention the representation of Punjab, Baluchistan, KPK and Sind but he undoubtedly revealed the proper representation of minorities in Flag, in Federation there is representation of Punjab, Baluchistan, KPK and Sind but there is no representation of minorities in Federation, while he was talking to people. Minorities are being constantly neglected and ignored and there is no proper acknowledgement of them in even a single field of life, he said. He said that this injustice with minorities is a slap on the faces of so-called democrats who are always singing the song of democracy. Nation is being cheated on the name of democracy, and this deceive has brought our country to this destruction, he said. Dr. J Salik said that it’s the cautionary for the pioneers, so-called contractors and champions of democracy that they have to change their behaviors as it’s the repetition of discrimination which was being practiced in India, now same sort of unfairness is being applied on minorities in Pakistan. The senselessness is on its peak and violation of rights of minorities is a very common practice in Pakistan, even media is not coving the events of minorities properly, and minorities are in constant complex, he said. He said that after snatching the social and political rights of minorities, now the conspiracy is to snatch the shelter of poor residents of slums. He further said that Government has already occupied Christian’s properties illegally; School, Collages and the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan is constantly being ignored by the Government but the poor people of slums are being considered as illegal who are living without any sort of facility. He said that the Government have snatched their rights, Ministry, Funds, political rights and even have given Sanitation department on Contract. He said that the most terrible injustice with minorities is that their political rights have been snatched, there is no proper representation of minorities in Pakistan, and nation is being deceived by fake representation. The decision against slums is the terrible conspiracy against minorities, he added.
