Lahore: May 8, 2014. (PCP) Pakistan means a land of pure and pious people but now it has become a land of violence and discrimination. Nobody is safe in Pakistan in the present scenario. Minorities have been always an easy target of the blasphemy law but whenever an educated and broad minded member of Muslim Community, morally or legally supports the person accused of committing blasphemy, they also faces the same threats and sometime they were killed.
Last evening, Advocate Rashid Rehman khan was killed by the Muslims Extremists in his office. Rehman, was a coordinator for the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and a well-known Human Rights Activist.
World vision in Progress WVIP strongly condemned the assassination of this brave Human rights Defender. Rehman who was defending the victim of the Blasphemy law Junaid Hafeez a Lecturer of Bahuddin Zakriya University Multan.
It is first time when we lose such brave people who are defending the victims from the strict Blasphemy law. In January 2011 Governor of Punjab, Mr. Salman Taseer was assassinated by his bodyguard Mumtaz Qadri when he try to support Asia Bibi a Christian lady who was given death sentence .
Extremism in Pakistan is accelerating day by day. Militant Groups are spreading their network and had already hijacked the Pakistani Society and every door of the dialogues has been closed.
