Lahore: May 13, 2014. (PCP) Pastor Saleem James, a human activist and Employee of Pakistan Telecommunication Company, is under constant life threat and kidnapping of his children, just because he is spreading the word of God in his area. Pastor Saleem James and his family are living in a mixed community which is predominantly a Muslim Area. Pastor Saleem James is preaching and teaching Bible to his Christian fellows in the area and God is doing miraculous work through prayers and fasting. Being a part of a family who has been affiliated with church and Church activities, he and his family have considered their rampage as fate. The tide of violence, hatred, discrimination and persecution started when the Muslim Mullahs could not bear that Muslim families come to Church for prayer and healing. His daughter had to face death due to fanatic people like these, when a huge bomb blast occurred in the FIA building Regal Chowk Lahore. This FIA building is just few meters away from his children’s school (sacred heart school). The blast shattered the window panes and walls of the school were badly shaken. From that moment, his daughter has lost her confidence and became mentally so disturbed that she could not get any position in her class again. Her personality is badly damaged with his bloodiest incident. Some unknown extremist often stop him with his family and threaten them passing vulgar remarks. They insisted him to stop preaching the Holy Bible; otherwise they would kill him and his family. Few days before three boys came and snatched bible from his hand and said that they will kidnap his kids and they will burn this Bible if he continue preaching. He cannot tolerate that terrorists kidnap his children. Pastor Saleem James is totally broken and under fear to even going outside his house. The Muslim extremists often knock the door of his house and ask for the persons involved in the blasphemy cases. His wife and children are so frightened and panic with this condition. On 08th April, 2014 after visiting his Church elder while he was coming home, two unknown persons with weapons stopped him and snatched the Bible. They also looted him and warned him not to preach Bible failing which they would kill him. Pastor Saleem James rushed to the police station where he told the whole story but to get the FIR registered was a very difficult for him. He begged and requested to register FIR but they wanted bribe which Pastor did not have. At last after almost 24 hours spending in Police station, they registered FIR of robbery only. Pastor Saleem James is also being mistreated at his work place. He is well educated and skilled person but his superiors who are Muslims extremists compel him to embrace Islam. Often, Pastor Saleem James has to defend his faith by quoting from Bible which may lead him to be victim of Blasphemy under the act of 295 B. His faith has become the bloodiest source of discrimination and hatred in his department. No one would eat in the plate he touched or ate and no one would drink in the glass he touch or drank. He is degraded in his office daily, called choora (menial/sweeper person) and many other insulting words. Company announced golden shake hand scheme but his immediate boss delisted his name from this golden opportunity just because of hatred and considering slaves. The Christians are like slaves in the hands of influenced people and they can to live their life according to their own desires and Pastor Saleem James is one of them. He is not being provided the opportunities for promotion as his juniors have been posted at the higher levels just because Pastor Saleem James is a Christian fellow. The intensity of threat is increasing day by day and his family’s stay in Pakistan is dangerous for their lives. You are all requested to pray for him and his family.
