Islamabad: May 22, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance, Convener Overseas Assembly Pakistan, Former Federal Minister and Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize Dr. J Salik lead a massive protest demonstration against the cruelty on slums today in front of National Press Club, Islamabad. A great number of slums residents, pastors, youth and local public leaders were present on the occasion. On the occasion, J Salik said that the decision of demolishing slums without any planning is extremely wrong, while he was addressing to the protesters. Same sort of decisions were taken in past and had faced the worst results of them, he said. He said that Pakistan People’s Party took the worst decision in 2009 to demolish the slum of Chak Shahzad and break all the records of cruelty on poor, made five hundred families homeless, and height of indifference is that even after the police abuse of 47 homeless women, a single statement of Prime Minister of Pakistan at that time Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, President Asif Ali Zardari and Minority Minister Late Shahbaz Bhatti, was not given against the most brutal incident and all of them had suffered a lot, in the result as we have seen, and with the curse of victims, poor and helpless peoples humiliated them and reversed their government. The history is repeating itself and the present Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and the Federal Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan are behaving in the same way, he said. If the worst cruelty of demolishing slums will be repeated the results will be more bad then previous and we can’t avoid the after effects of foolish decision, he added. He said that a single erroneous decision of eighteenth amendment is violating the rights of fifty percent of our public the totally changed the concept of constitution of 1973. He put slug on his head as well and demanded that government should have mercy on poor people of slums and UNO should monitor the democracy in all over the world especially in Pakistan otherwise people will start hating democracy and it will bring anarchy everywhere.
