Islamabad: May 28, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance Mr. J Salik led a massive protest demonstration against the cruelty on slums, today in front of National Press Club, Islamabad. On the occasion a great number of slums residents, pastors, youth and local public leaders put slug in their heads to express their immense grief of their powerlessness. On the occasion PML N leader Senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah addressed to protesters and said that the residents of slums are our brothers and I am standing with you on the issue of slums. The issue of slums is an important national issue, I will definitely talk to our leadership on the issue and our government will never let anyone be homeless, he said. He said that for the development of our country we have to provide justice to grass root level people, have to give rights to every individual, it’s not justice to snatch the shelter of poor people, our constitution gives this responsibility to state for providing food, clothing and shelter to public, so it will be inordinate injustice if the decision of demolishing slums will sustain to make the residents homeless. On this occasion Naib Ameer jamait-e-islami Mian Aslam also addressed to the people and said that slum residents have no sort of facility in their homes and now their water supply is also disconnected by the Yazid’s of the time, and no one is there to ask them. No one is talking about the rights of ninety five percent public but everyone is worried for only about five percent of people and ninety five percent of people are constantly being ignored, he said. He said that inflation rate in the country is continuously going up, it made hard for common man to manage their bread and butter now, and the poor of country is being poorer day by day. On this occasion J.Salik said that the leadership should left their senselessness now and should talk about the rights of poor otherwise the ninety five percent public will come out on roads. He said that we can no more follow the selfish and wrong decisions taken by governments as a single erroneous decision of eighteenth amendment is constantly violating the rights of fifty percent of our public the totally changed the concept of constitution of 1973, governments took foolish decisions and the public has to face the worst results of them but it’s over now and it should be stopped now. It’s the height of senselessness that people are constantly protesting and its making no difference on establishment. He demanded that there should be live monitoring cameras outside National Press Club and the footage should be seen in Prime Minister House, President House, Parliament House and commissioner house as well, so that the people protesting outside NPC get noticed by them.
