YWM attacked by Madhya Pradesh VHP radicals and 8 year old Christian girl forced to recite “ Jai Sri Ram”, a Hindu prayer.

India: On 17th March at around 9.45 pm about 20 radical Hindus claiming to be the members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP, a radical Hindu organization) entered the premises of Youth With a Mission situated in the city of Jabalpur, in the state of Madhya Pradesh which is about 12 hours drive from the capital city Bhopal. The perpetrators tricked the guard by saying that they are from the Central Bureau of Investigation and gained entry into the building where the youths were praising and worshipping Jesus Christ. There were about 12 men and 10 ladies were present at the worship. The radicals started threatening the women with rape and beaten the men and women present there. THE RADICALS ALSO EXPOSED THEM SELVES IN FRONT OF THE WOMEN. Five men and 3 ladies were injured in the attack and were treated at the hospital as outpatients. The radicals also forced the 8-year-old daughter of Mr. Mukesh Jacob, the camp leader, to shout " Jai Sri Ram" (to praise an Hindu god). The child refused to do so by saying that she will only worship Jesus Christ. The perpetrators become wild on hearing this and threw her to the floor. They have also damaged the computers, furniture and also Stolen the digital player before vanishing from the premises. The Radicals lodged a false complaint against YWAM members at the police station. The police arrived at the premises and arrested all the members and kept them at the police station till 4.AM. The police authorities have also refused to register a complaint against the perpetrators. Pastor Sam the Co- coordinator of GCIC from Bhopal is on the way to Jabalpur to extend all possible help to the victims The GCIC President Sajan George have urged the national women`s commission to investigate the incidents of outraging the modesty of women by radicals in Jabalpur
