Karachi: June 30, 2014. (PCP) The activists of MASS, a local Human Right Organization and residents of Essa Nagri raised slogans while staging protest in front of Karachi Press Club on June 29, 2014, demanding protection from Sindh Chief Minister, Director General Sindh Rangers and Inspector General of Sindh police.
The group of Muslim extremists forcibly removed security walls around Essa Nagri which were built by residents with self-help in 2012, when this group attacked and killed 5 Christian youth.
This group of Muslims were entering in Essa Nagri and demanding money from Christian shopkeepers and elderly Christian and on not paying them extortion money they were tortured in public and shot dead on which Christian of area built security walls.
Essa Nagri is biggest residential colony of Christians in Sindh Province of Pakistan which is surrounded by Muslim immigrations from FATA and KPK province.
On June 26, 2014, same group of Muslim extremists led by one Mohammad Akhter Ali broke the security wall of Street number 3, of Essa Nagri, which spread among Christian residents.
The Mission and Action for Social Services (MASS) moved application and tried to lodge complain with PIB Police Station on breaking of security wall be Mohammad Akhter Ali and his group but SHO of police station paid no attention. MASS leaders brought it in notice of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Karachi East but none was ready to take action against culprits.
On June 27, 2014, a delegation of MASS and elders of Essa Nagri complained to Wing Commander Rangers 84 and requested for protection as Mohammad Akhter Ali was continuously threating to burn down Churches in Essa Nagri.
Karachi city is under operation clean up against criminals and terrorists conducted by Sindh Rangers and Karachi Police but protection of Christians is not important for law enforcement agencies when five Christians have been already murdered in Essa Nagri and Christians were feeling safe after construction of security walls.
Mr. Liaquat Munawar, Chief of MASS told Pakistan Christian Post “We also nominate Terrorist Akhter Ali because he threats our community on the behalf of terrorists. Mohammad Akhter Ali says that they will burn the all Christian community of Essa Nagri, because he have lot of arms and ammunition and no any force can protect Christian from him. Mohammad Akhter Ali also claims that they have power and good relations with higher authorities.
MASS activists demanded arrest of Mohammad Akhter Ali and criminal of his group during protest in front of Karachi Press Club yesterday and immediately construction of security wall was again.
