No government can be successful without minorities in Pakistan

Islamabad: July 8, 2014. (PCP) World Minorities Alliance J Salik has said that the consultation between government and opposition on creation of National Commission for minorities is good but the more important thing in this regard is to make the commission effective for minorities not merely a dummy commission only. He said that as it is the matter of the rights of minorities so minorities should be taken in trust in all the matters in this regard. He said that the main and important issue is about selection of members of commission; first of all the mandatory element is that all the members of commission should be neutral; member should be well reputed in his work for the welfare of society, in addition. He said that we don’t want any dummy representative from minority, if any dummy representative will be selected from Christians we will not only protest but will challenge the matter in supreme court as well, as supreme court has already ordered to create a task force and other accessories for the rights of minorities. He said that we will not accept any dummy commission or any dummy representative at any cost because the injustice with minorities is on its extreme when Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinah said that “no government can work without taking minorities into confidence” during his address at Ali Garrh University, in 1940, but minorities are constantly being ignored here and no one is there to ask.
