Karachi: July 8, 2014. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has said in a statement that issues of religious minorities can be resolved if government of Pakistan forms “National Minority Commission” under true spirit of “Liaquat-Nehru Pact”.
“It is ironic that every government announces formation of “National minority Commission” to benefit some of their tools in minority community and Muslim functionaries to swallow budget allocated on it while such Commissions had never invited Presentation of Christians, Hindus and other minorities individuals that legislation may be recommended on their Electron System and Religious Freedom” said Nazir Bhatti
The news appears in section of media that ruling party Pakistan Muslim League PML (N) and opposition leader from Pakistan Peoples Party PPP in National Assembly of Pakistan have consulted on formation of “National Minority Commission”
All “National Minority Commission” formed after 1956, in Pakistan are headed by Prime Minister or any other Muslim Federal Minister which never called any Public Presentation and nor submitted any recommendations but ruling party used “National Minority Commission” to impose its religious and political agenda on religious minorities in Pakistan.
The concept of “National Minority Commission” was duly signed by Prime Minister of India J L Nehru and Prime Minister of Pakistan Khan Liaquat Ali Khan on April 8, 1950 in New Delhi, to protect rights of minorities in respective state in an International Treaty known as “Liaquat-Nehru Pact”
The “Liaquat-Nehru Pact” clearly stated that “A Minority Commission will be formed headed by acting or retired Judge of Supreme Court in India and Pakistan which will invite Presentations of minorities’ leaders for recommendations to legislate laws for protections of Muslims in India where they are in minority and Christians, Hindus and others in Pakistan”
The Indian governments are forming “National Minority Commission” headed by retired Justice of Indian Supreme Court after signing “Liaquat-Nehru Pact” while any government in Pakistan have not formed “National Minority Commission” under any Judge after signing that pact.
“Pakistani Christians and other religious minorities have reservations on their Electron System and Religious but their voice is never heard by Muslim political parties which rule Pakistan” added Dr. Nazir Bhatti
Nazir Bhatti demanded formation of “National Minority Commission” headed by any acting or retired Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan instead under any Federal Minister to comply with “Liaquat-Nehru Pact” which is signed by it.
PCC Chief said that Pakistan Christian Congress PCC will challenge formation of “National Minority Commission” headed by any Minister or Prime Minister in higher courts of law because its violation of an International Treaty “Liaquat-Nehru Pact” of which Pakistan is a signatory also. PCC will also raise voice on International forums against violations of Pakistan on International Treaty.
