Holland: September 21, 2014. (PCP) Parvez Iqbal, President, Pakistan Christian Congress Holland Chapter in his statement on the eve of one year completion of Terror Attack on All Saints Cathedral, Kohati Gate Church Peshawar, where last year on 21 September, two suicide bombers exploded themselves while Sunday service was just finished leaving more than hundred stop breathing and about 300 injured out of which about 70 sustained severe injuries to spent rest of their lives incurable disabilities. Many promises were made and assurances were delivered by the provincial and federal Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, but all were forgotten as political speeches of Pakistani politicians. Despite wiping up the tears of innocent and poor victims, provincial Leaders have neglected them. Still lot to do for development and re-construction of losses as well as sharing their loads practically, but when, by whom and from where? Nobody to answer. Only some Churches, and Organization are doing memorial services and holding prayers meeting highlighting their events and selves on social and print media just to polish and for our recognition. We need to take few practical steps to stand with them in time of their troubles.
Meanwhile, The Central Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in Karachi have issued a press note on 1st anniversary of All Saints Church Peshawar where 127 Christians were martyred and more than 250 injured in a twin suicide bombing on September 22, 2013, demanding culprits to bring before law that justice may be ensured.
PCC Secretariat also released a statement of PCC President Dr. Nazir S Bhatti on 1st anniversary of All Saints Church Peshawar urging government of Pakistan to adopt all necessary security measure for Christians in Pakistan who are being targeted by Islamic extremists on pretext to blasphemy laws.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “Christians are fleeing from Pakistan after rising violence against them to safe their lives which is unfortunate and alarming.
