Islamabad: September 24, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance & Former Federal Minister J Salik will lead a protest for the rights of minorities with the portrait of Ban Ki Moon and flag of UNO and international flags on the occasion of International Minorities Day on Thursday, 25th Sep, 2014 at 3:00 PM in front of National Press Club, Islamabad. J Salik said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Shareef is going to address in UNO on 26th Sep, 2014 but the rights of minorities in the country are being violated constantly and the government is discriminating minorities as the government is in the hands of corrupt people. The major most cruelty with minorities is that their election doesn’t exist and minorities have no right to choose their representatives, he said. He said that the people sitting in air conditioned environment can’t be the representatives of poor because they are representing their political parties only as they came with violation of Article 226 of Constitution of Pakistan firstly and secondly they have no interest and no concern with the hassles of minorities or poor. J Salik said that the properties of minorities are confined by the government and the government has occupied the properties of Christians illegally and using them for many years. He said that Minority Ministry is dissolved under eighteenth amendment in the constitution and in this respect the trivial fund of five crore is snatched as well. He further said that the life of a sanitary worker is worst than a street dog even, as sanitation department is privatized by giving it to a waste management company on contract, whereas it was the only department in which poor people from minority could get a chance of government job. The sanitation department is given to a Turkish company and privatized all the sanitary workers. He said that when the government is not even capable to manage the sanitation system of the country, how is it possible for them to manage the whole country. He said that if every citizen is equal and have equal rights on all the facilities available (Electricity, Water, Gas and others) than why the residents of slums only, are deprived and have no access to these facilities of life. It’s over and minorities can’t bear anymore, there is no other choice rather to provide them rights to sustain the peace in the country because only minorities are being forced to face injustice at each and every step.
