Lahore: November 4, 2014. (PCP) The incident took place at Kot Radha Kishan, a small town in Kasur and about 60 kilometers (40 miles) from Lahore, on Tuesday November 5, 2014 in the morning a Muslim mob attacked a young Christian couple Shama and Shehzad, after accusing them of desecration of the Holy Quran and later burnt them alive in the brick kiln. The couple worked on the brick kiln and they had three minors ages 1 ½ to 7 years. Through sources CLAAS came to know that the incident took place on Monday November 04, 2014 after alleging them for desecration of the Holy Quran. Today the Muslim mob attacked the couple, beat them severely and then set their bodies on fire. CLAAS team including Sohail Habel, Rama Rasheed, Asif Raza and volunteers Martin Javaid Michel and Iqbal Khokher was on the spot for the fact finding. It is through sources that Mr. Shahbaz Sharif Chief Minister Punjab has constituted a three-member committee to investigate the incident and killings and ordered police to provide security to Christians in the locality. State is responsible for this dreadful incident as in all previous incidents when the Christian community in Kasur, Shanti Nagar, Joseph Colony Lahore and Gojra where 9 people were burnt alive by the extremists groups and the responsible were set free by the courts, they were not punished. It is due to impunity that people use to take law in their hands and in result there are number of extra judicial killing.
