Rome: November 15, 2014. (PCP) On 2 July, the House passed a motion signed by several Members, on behalf of persecuted Christians in Pakistan. To communicate is Paolo Petrini, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Democratic Party, and one of the signers of the document. Petrini in touch and receive updates about the plight of Christians in Pakistan (most recently the murder of the young couple thrown alive into a furnace and that the prisoner beaten to death by a police officer on charges of blasphemy against Islam) by Adan Farhaj Bakhsh, President of the Italian Federation of Pakistan Association in Italy, a member of the All Pakistan Minorities Rights Organisation (PMRO) and representative of young people in England of the Pakistan Minorities Alliance (PMA). For a long time Farhaj lived in the Marche region, dealing with issues related to the integration of immigrants and engaging particularly in the Pakistani community in Italy, thanks to its activities has known Petrini. The two have stayed in touch even now that the activist for his fellow countrymen and brothers in the faith, he moved to Britain. E 'was also due to the stress of Adan Farhaj Bakhsh, the Italian Parliament has decided to vote for the motion pro-Pakistani Christians now "I hope that is also true in the Senate and then the government takes an initiative that can involve the whole community European Union, "said Paolo Petrini. What happens after that, again at the instigation of Farhaj, the Marche Regional Council unanimously approved on April 15, a motion by Councilor Letizia Bellabarba (PD) together with some colleagues, to ask the Italian government to request the 'abolition by the Pakistani blasphemy law intended by General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in 1986, which mainly affects Christians? Among the signatories of the motion to the House, in addition to precisely Paolo Petrini, there are names like Eugenia Roccella (New Centre-Right), Rocco Buttiglione (for Italy) and Cécile Kyenge, former Minister of Integration. This document may, it is hoped, be useful to the salvation of Asia Bibi, a Christian farmer in prison since 2009 and recently sentenced to death in the second degree (Lahore High Court) with their charges of blasphemy. Now the last chance for her to escape the gallows is the Supreme Court.
